When we think about
certifications, one of the important things that reflect our brains
is whether we require to have the ISTQB certification for becoming a
qualified software tester. It sometimes make us so confused in taking
the decision of going for certification or not. However, the fact is
that certification of any professional course has become necessary
for not only showing qualification during job selection but also
gaining sufficient knowledge related to the best certified resources
available in this field. As far as ISTQB certification is concerned,
it really helps in getting the best knowledge of conducting different
types of software testing and finding the best job worldwide.
Preparing for the ISTQB
(International Software Testing Qualifications Board) examination is
somewhat tricky for those who are new to software testing and want to
get the certification. However, there are some key to success tips
that I found very interesting in preparing for this particular exam.
Let's me share those with you righ away...
(1) Get Familiar
with Every Line Mentioned in the Study Material
While preparing for the
ISTQB examination, you should study the course material thoroughly.
You need to get familiar with every line which there in it, even if
you have the knowledge of the concept. According to me, I feel that
we know a particular concept very well but sometimes a small
deviation could make us to loose 1 or 2 mark, which is certainly very
important to get the high scores in the examination.
(2) Always Keep the
Standards in Mind
Standards like IEEE
829, ISO9126 and so on are common while preparing for ISTQB
examination. There are certain concepts that come under these
standards. I suggest all of you to note down these standards along
with important contents so that you would be able to learn them
easily.
(3) Remember
Keywords as These are Key to Success in ISTQB
There
would be times that we might feel difficulty in remembering the whole
concept exactly as described in the textbook. So, it becomes easy for
us to remember such concepts by going through all keywords. It helps
us in re-collecting the concept and therefore the chances of getting
the correct answers of the questions increased.
(4) Do Not Waste on
Questions that You Find Difficult
There
might be few or some questions that you could find difficult in you
ISTQB question paper. So, you should not waste time on them as you
could miss those questions that you might know very well due to lack
of time.
(5) Be a Champ in
Solving Questions through Diagrams and by Learning Tricks
There
would be many questions in your syllabus that could be solved easily
through diagrams such as flow charts for solving problems of
different types of coverages. You should learn them as it costs less
time in solving the problems. Even you would be able to learn the
tricks for solving questions accurately and quickly.
